April Wrap UP

It is once again time for another monthly wrap up!

I am actually pretty proud of myself this month for reading 7 books (I DNF’d one but we’ll get to that later) and it’s mostly thanks to #Unsolvedathon.

Readathon’s were something I have heard about but never participated in (I don’t know why but I just didn’t) but when I saw this one that was based off of Buzzfeeds Unsolved I could not not join. I did join it once it was already underway so I didn’t read as many books as most of the other participants or get to finish all its prompts but I am so glad I joined and actually signed up to join another readathon next month!

Here is what I read in the month of April.

Trail of Lightning by Rebecca Roanhorse 4 out of 5

The Abyss Surrounds Us by Emily Skrutskie 4 out of 5

Akata Witch by Nnedi Okorafor 5 out of 5

The Heist Society by Ally Carter 4 out of 5

The Lottery and Other Stories by Shirley Jackson 3 out of 5

The Seafarer’s Kiss by Julia Ember 4 out of 5

Perfect Ruin by Lauren DeStefano 4 out of 5

Ready Player One by Ernest Cline  DNF. The first couple of pages were just info dumps and then there were not one but two slurs in a conversation so I decided to just not pursue this book any father. Which is a shame I really liked the movie and wanted to give the book a go.

What did you read this month? Have you read any of these books? What did you think about them?

  1. Great wrap up and reading month! I haven’t read any of these books, but I did hear a few negative things about Ready Player One. I was planning to read it in April but decided against that once I heard about the tone of the book.
